Final project progress - part 3 ( cad visuals )

Interior

Inside I designed a multiple floor exhibition space each dedicated to a different kind of visual
art.

The Egg

The core element of my design is a giant (over 9 meters high) metal Egg hanging from the
roof on metal wires and hanging down through all the floors. It’s a design concept which
creates a video art projection space which can be entered from second and third floors.
On the outside it presents its intriguing shape and reflects everything around it on its shiny
polished metal surface. inside it creates a mysterious, dark, private space, perfect for a
silent reflection over the video art presented on the screens.

The staircase

The egg is surrounded by a spectacular spiral staircase forming a nest around it. The
staircase is built in a way that where one stairs curve ends, the other begins and continues
up through all the floors.

Design for my final project part 2 ( wall sculpture )

Design for my final project part 1 ( concept model )

Exterior

I have chosen a warehouse on Dace Road next to the river.
On the outside I used bricks combined with a glass and metal walls which would prevent
the building from overpowering its surroundings. I then modeled the brick part of the wall
by creating giant cracks going down the wall to create the effect of a broken shell. There
is some influence of deconstructivism in my design but what I wanted to show was a
metaphor of the energy cumulated inside the Art Centre in the way that is nearly breaking
the walls!
