A photo essay is a set or series of photographs that are intended to tell a story or evoke a series of emotions in the viewer. A photo essay will often show pictures in deep emotional stages. (!) Photo essays range from purely photographic works to photographs with captions or small notes to full text essays with a few or many accompanying photographs. Photo essays can be sequential in nature, intended to be viewed in a particular order, or they may consist of non-ordered photographs which may be viewed all at once or in an order chosen by the viewer. All photo essays are collections of photographs, but not all collections of photographs are photo essays. Photo essays often address a certain issue or attempt to capture the character of places and events.

I should have read it before but I've just found it now and I guess I intuitionally took the right path to do the photo essay just because me myself I'm extremely emotional...
but this is what it should be according to the definition (which in the context of these pictures looks a bit out of place here, so dry and formal, but whatever)

The place I photographed is situated in the Chelsea Art College. It doesn't look particularly beautiful but it is definitely a scary place which makes the whole situation much more interesting. The structure is really particular because there is a new extension injected between two old buildings and we can nearly see the suffering of the old brick walls being pushed by new white smooth surfaces. The old window openings are filled in with bricks what indicates the end of use and death to the previous greatness of the old building. The creepy atmosphere pushed me towards registering the space from a perspective of a scared person running through the space looking for a place to hide. To my surprise my feeling about the scariness of this place was confirmed the next day when i was told that it used to be a hospital and the old part of the building was an old chimney in which the bodies of dead patients were being burned.
